Your High School Mascot Makes Me Barf

by ylmmb on September 12, 2009

It’s football season again and that means weird mascots, odd team names, and barfy logos. Here are some high school mascots and logos that are sure to make you barf up those latest pregame snacks.

Laurel Hill Hobos (Laurel Hill, Florida) & Chinook Sugar Beeters (Chinook, Montana)

Fisher Bunnies (Fisher, Illinois) & Avon Old Farms Winged Beavers (Avon, Connecticut)

Blooming Prairie Awesome Blossoms (Blooming Prarie, Minnesota) & Orofino Maniacs (Orofino, Idaho)

New Berlin Pretzels (New Berlin, Illinois) & Watersmeet Nimrods (Watersmeet, Michigan)

Kaukauna Galloping Ghosts (Kaukauna, Wisconsin) & Ridgefield Spudders (Ridgefield, Washington)

Centralia High School Orphans (boys teams) & Annies (girls teams). (Centralia, Illinois)

Allow me to quote wikipedia regarding the Orofino Maniacs:

“Orofino is home to both the Idaho Correctional Institution – Orofino and Idaho State Hospital North. These two facilities are located adjacent to another Orofino institution: Orofino High School.”

For those that need translation: State Hospital is the PC/unoffensive way of saying State Mental Hospital without, you know, giving away the fact that this city is the home of all the mentally deranged people from Northern Idaho.

BTW, the school claims the mascot choice was in no way related to the hospital. None. Promise. They’re not rude or insensitive. Geez.

Oh good God.

Thanks for the very informative comment! Someone may have dropped this knowledge previously, but we lost all of the old comments during The Dark Time.
