As long as they start gently. A girl needs some foreplay, you know.

A Logo Designed on Opposite Day

  • Designer A: How do we best represent the concept of something being waterproof?
  • Designer B: Hmm…well, we definitely want to get some water in there.
  • Designer C: Yeah! Also the letter W, which totally makes people think waterproof, and not water.
  • Designer A: Great! We’ll have a giant drop of water leaking through a letter that stands for water on top of the name of our business, precipitously perched in a way that threatens imminent leakage.
  • Designer B: It should also be blue, because water is blue.
  • Designer A: Done! Let’s go get drunk.

“I know! Let’s play ‘how many fonts can I fit in one logo’! Could any more be going on here? I’m trying to picture it on a envelope return address..”

J. Martin spotted this construction company logo in Hamburg, Germany. We’re not sure what’s going on in this one but it makes us a wee bit uncomfortable.

Kris spotted this logo on a van while driving in Georgia. She writes, “At the first glance, I thought it was some sort of fat lightening bolts, but when I read the company name I was even more baffled. What do clipart elongated triangles have to do with lighting? I realize it may be a difficult concept to roll into a logo design, but that’s when you go for something SIMPLISTIC.”

We couldn’t agree with her more.

Another shot of the logo from the website.
